Blush Pink Dahlias

Dahlias happen to be one of my favorite flowers. With so my varieties and colors of dahlias I am just amazed by these lovely flowers. On a September trip to Claude Monet’s garden in Giverny, France the entire garden was in full Dahlia flower bloom. I was so mesmerized by garden after garden of dahlias galore! I took so many photos and soon was inspired to create my latest series of botanical floral paintings.

To achieve a nostalgic feel in my alcohol ink painting I have used a natural linen canvas for the surface of the art piece. The pop Blush Pink floral color are perfectly paired with the negative space of the Natural colored canvas and the many shades of Green in the foilage.  This floral painting is the perfect way to bring the garden inside your home without the maintenance of live plants. I just love the color it brings to any wall space creating a cozy garden vibe.
