Boats on Lily Pond

A trip to Claude Monet’s garden in Giverny, France is the inspiration for this landscape painting of boats on a lily pond. A relaxing, private place to contemplate life and nature. To achieve a nostalgic feel in my alcohol ink painting I have used a natural linen canvas for the surface of the art piece. Though the linen canvas causes the ink colors to be a little moody the saturated ink colors no doubt come through creating a balance between the colors found in nature and the moody nature of this landscape. Perfect wall art for a quiet contemplative area of your home as you think about the connection and wonderment of nature in our lives.
