Decorative Dahlias

Like a breath of Spring, this dahlia painting evokes feelings of new life, of a new season.  I happen to love Purple flowers for their color feels serene and majestic to me. I knew I would need to include a Purple color Dahlia flower painting in my latest series inspired by my trip to Claude Monet’s garden in Giverny, France.

As with the other paintings in this botanical series I used a natural linen canvas for the surface of the art piece for nostalgic feel in my alcohol ink painting . Along with pops of Purple and Magenta color there is many textures of the foliage in multi shades of Green.  This artwork makes perfect wall art to brighten up an room.
